Municipal Property Tax and Utility Deferral Announcement

Effective April 1st, 2020 Penalty fees will be waived on current property tax, and utility bills (water/sewer/garbage/irrigation) owed to the Town until September 30th. The normal penalty for late payment of property tax of 12%, normally issued on July 1st, will be assessed on October 1st.
What does this mean?
Town residents will have the freedom to choose to pay as able or defer all or some of their property tax and utility bills owed to the Town between April 1st and September 30, 2020 penalty free.
▪ The amount owed, does not go away, but this measure does provide you flexibility, if you need it, to manage your finances through the economic realities of the pandemic.
▪ You will still get a utility bill each month and property taxes will still be due on June 30th, 2020.
▪ If you are on the Pre-Authorized Payment Plan and want to adjust your payment schedule, please contact the office at 403-758-3212
▪ If you can afford to pay all or some of your bills please consider doing so as it may be difficult to come up with the money needed to pay off a larger bill before October. Also, the Town does require a cashflow to continue to provide essential services.

Please note that due to Magrath Days, the Transfer Station will be CLOSED on Saturday, July 26. Instead, it will be OPEN on Friday, July 25 from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Thank you for your understanding, and enjoy the festivities!
