Magrath Pool Closed for the Season

Town Council has made the difficult decision to close the Magrath Pool for 2020. In order to open the pool, significant expenses would have been required to refurbish the boiler and for general start up repairs of sealing and painting the pool basin for the year. In addition to these expenses, the Town has tendered a Request for Proposals (RFP). It is expected that once awarded the construction of the new pool will be able to begin mid-summer. Additionally, the Provincial Order currently requires the closure of municipal recreational facilities across the Province and is likely still to be in effect impacting the opening of at least the initial weeks of the pool’s season. The combined weight of these compelling factors contributed to the decision to close the pool.
