Magrath a top performer in the Canadian Taxpayers Federation's 2020 Municipal Spending Report

The Canadian Taxpayers Federation (CTF) released their 2020 Municipal Spending Report. The report rates Magrath very high in comparison to other Alberta municipalities.  Interested in knowing more, the Town discussed the report directly with its author the Alberta Director of the CTF. He commented that results such as Magrath’s can show that the municipality is aware and respectful of its residents tax dollars. Ultimately, the CTF Alberta Director pointed out that the less money taken per-capita by a municipality in taxes represents more money being left in the hands and pockets of its residents. He further stressed that this point is especially important during challenging economic times such as the ones COVID and the collapse of energy prices has bought.
